When was the last time you sat in silence, truly quiet, allowing your soul to breathe? In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, we often forget the simple beauty of stillness.
Psalm 37:7 reminds us to "Be silent before the Lord and wait expectantly for Him." This is a profound invitation to step away from the noise and find rest in the presence of God.
At R.E.S.T. Oasis (check out our new sister website at www.InHisRest.com), we understand that women in ministry and women from ministry families carry a unique burden. You pour out your heart and soul, guiding others toward faith, all while balancing the responsibilities of family, work, and community. It's easy to feel overwhelmed, isn't it? But we are here to tell you, you're not alone.
Diane Rose, our founder of R.E.S.T. Oasis, has walked this path. As a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, she knows the value of nurturing relationships. As a Daughter of the Most High King, she has learned from women before her and in her life now. She knows the importance of pausing, of finding moments to connect with the One who sustains us. When you join us at R.E.S.T. Oasis, you'll find a sanctuary where you can do just that.
But silence doesn't always come easy. So how can you be silent before the Lord in the midst of life's demands? Here are a few ways to cultivate quietness and experience His peace:
1. Morning Meditation
Start your day with a moment of stillness. Before the world awakens, sit quietly with your Bible, with a blank page and a pen waiting, focusing on a verse or passage. Let it speak to your heart and listen for God's whisper.
2. Nature Walks
Take a walk in a peaceful place, whether it's a park, a garden, your neighborhood, or a trail. As you walk, observe the beauty of God's creation. Let the sounds of nature be your companion and use this time to commune with God.
3. Breathing Prayers
Practice deep breathing while focusing on a simple prayer or a single Scripture from His Word that centers you. Inhale and exhale slowly, letting each breath draw you closer to God.
4. Journaling
Write your thoughts, prayers, and reflections in a journal. This can be a way to express your heart to God while also listening for His guidance. As you write, leave space for silence, allowing Him to speak into the quiet moments.
5. Sacred Music
Listen to instrumental worship music or hymns. Let the melodies wash over you, creating an atmosphere of peace. Use this time to meditate on God's goodness and love.
6. Silent Retreats
If you are a women in ministry, a women from in a ministry family or you know someone who is, join us or invite others to retreat with us. Here, you can step away from the demands of daily life and immerse yourself in a serene environment where you can be still and know that He is God.
Find moments of silence throughout your day. Remember, being silent before the Lord is not about doing nothing—it's about creating space for His presence to fill you. In the stillness, you can find renewal, clarity, and the strength to continue your journey with faith and grace. We're here for you, and we can't wait to welcome you into our community of rest and spiritual growth.
Sit in His Presence, sit in silence to hear God speak to you personally.
