Guard my steps...

Truth…

1 Samuel 2:9 (God’s Word) says,

“He guards the steps of His faithful ones.”

“He” is God Almighty, Creator of the universe. The word “guards” can be defined as “to keep safe from harm or danger; protect; watch over,” says dictionary.com.

God is promising to keep His children safe from any harm, any danger, anything that would cause injury. It doesn’t mean hurt does not come. He just promises to be with us. As a parent I always want to protect my children (and grandchildren, too). I want to be sure they do not get into anything that will cause them pain or hurt. Although I might be standing next to them, they could still fall and injure themselves.

He still protects and watches over His children wherever we find ourselves. I like the fact that I know He is with me because I have chosen to be in His Faithfulness and in His Presence.

When I am connected to the Vine (John 15:1, 5), connected to God thru a personal relationship with Jesus, I can know His Presence. I can recognize Him at work around me. He draws Himself to me as I come to Him. God is the one who initiated the connection. He chose me first. Now that I have chosen Him, He shows me where to step. He guides my steps. He shows me how to stay out of danger. He guards my steps. He walks before me and carries me when I can’t do it myself.

I’m so thankful God, in His Faithfulness gave me a way to come to Him daily for His guidance, protection, and wisdom.

I never have to be without Him. “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish—ever! No one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.” (Matthew 10:28-29). He in His Faithfulness is holding me in the palm of His Hand.

Truth: He guards my steps because I have Him in my life.
